Jesse Fegelman — Composer, Guitarist, Musician

Jesse is a freelance musician based in his home-town of Toronto. Eclectic to the core, he is equally at home pouring over field recordings for a piece of electronic music, adapting and recording folk music accompaniments on classical guitar, leading a volunteer pop/rock band of fellow alumni, or teaching private lessons. All of his music making is built on a foundation of interconnected knowledge and a tireless desire to learn more and share.

Jesse holds a Master of Music degree from the University of Alberta and a Bachelor of Music degree from Queen's University. At the University of Alberta his studies focused on composition with a focus in "new" music and electroacoustic composition. During these studies, he honed his compositional voice with a focus on pre-compositional work and generative material. This was built upon the foundation of well-rounded musicianship gained during his undergraduate studies. While these studies focused on composition and classical guitar, Jesse also was able to play in a variety of ensembles on guitar and other instruments.

Teaching is a pillar of Jesse's musical life. His teaching experience spans post-secondary classrooms to one-on-one private lessons. Each individual student is at the core of the teaching approach, building a personalized experience of both material and learning style. Working from a home studio well-equipped to deliver these lessons via online video conferencing.

Contributing to the musical landscape of Toronto and beyond as a composer, arranger and performer brings both joy and fulfilment to Jesse's experience as a musician. Equally comfortable in the studio or on stage as an accompanist and collaborator, he brings sensitivity and tireless work ethic appreciated by those he works with.
